What you will do at reisetopia
We are seeking a talented Working Student WordPress Developer (m/f/x) to support our software engineering team in developing our platform. Your key responsibilities will include:
Key responsibilties:
- Assist in planning, developing, and maintaining high-quality WordPress solutions, including custom themes, plugins, and new features, ensuring excellent functionality and user experience.
- Produce modular, scalable, well-tested, and documented code under the guidance of senior developers.
- Contribute to an understandable and extensible application architecture with a focus on performance, availability, and security.
- Support the publishing, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of code through a CI/CD deployment pipeline.
- Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards.
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and the software engineering team to turn responsive designs into effective web solutions.
- Stay updated with the latest web technologies and WordPress trends.

What qualifications we expect from you
We are looking for a motivated student who is eager to learn and contribute to our tech projects.
The ideal candidate should bring:
- Current enrollment in a relevant degree program (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering).
- Experience with PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery.
- Familiarity with WordPress, including theme and plugin development.
- Understanding of responsive and adaptive design principles.
- Knowledge of third-party (RESTful) APIs
- Proficiency in using code versioning tools, such as Git.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude in keeping the team informed and suggesting solutions.
- Passionate, driven, empathetic, and capable of working independently without direct supervision.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Fluent in English - German is a plus, but not necessary
Additional qualifications that would be beneficial, but not mandatory, include:
- Knowledge of UI/UX.
- Knowledge of SEO and page speed.
- Knowledge in tracking and analytics tools like Google Analytics, PostHog and Looker Studio.
- Experience with Typescript, React.js, Next.js and universal rendering.
- Familiarity with serverless functions like AWS Lambda.
- Experience with DevOps tools like Docker, Ansible, and Serverless Framework.
